This play is about two priests who are not what they appear to be and a smart young woman who sees them for what they really are.

Laura Braxton, a humanist and ardent feminist, is taking instructions to be married in the Catholic Church. During the process, she presents several opinions and asks many questions that set her squarely against the one priest, her religious instructor, and yet brings her somewhat closer to the other priest.

She postulates that organized religions have set people against each other and seem to foster so much violence and hatred that the GODS of these various sects must be STRANGE She also wants to know why women are held as second class citizens in some religions.

WARNING!
Come to this play only if you wish to enjoy a work that is
provocative, stimulating, and controversial
with a touch of humour

Universal Holdings, a multi-universal corporation chaired by God, is in the business of acquiring souls. The returns from Earth have become minimal, so they vote to liquidate their holdings there, but any motion to liquidate requires a unanimous vote. Jesus votes against it with the plea to give mankind more time.

Suddenly, Satan who had been kicked off the Board appears unannounced and
recommends that they sell Earth to him, since it is such a losing portfolio. The Board of course refuses. So he then suggests that they send someone to Earth for inspection and recommends they send Gabriel, the young office boy.

Since they have reached this impasse, the board reluctantly agrees, and charges Gabriel to return within seven days with a decision based on his findings:

Liquidate…..Retain…..Sell to Satan

During Gabriel's stay on Earth, Satan as his official tour guide, conspires to ensure that Gabriel meets people who are more attracted to sin than to salvation, so that he sees our world as it really is. His aim is to send Gabriel back with the recommendation to the Board to accept Satan's offer to buy, since most people follow him anyway.

What will Gabriel's decision be?

WARNING
Come to this humorous and uplifting musical,
only if you are ready to be both amused and deeply moved by mankind’s folly.

"Carruth is a very talented composer of songs and especially good for this kind of musical theatre" - Alvina Ruprecht: CBC Radio Theatre Critic
